Kiwi Campout

Mendocino Coast – 2022

Our annual Coastal Kiwi Campout will take you to a relaxed, refreshingly wild Pacific Ocean experience in the beautiful Mendocino area - yes - you can pitch your tent and then pitch in!

After you arrive and set up on Saturday we will share an afternoon of Meet & Greet Wine & Cheese tasting, followed by a dinner of NZ made pies. On Sunday we are treating you to a NZ Lamb extravaganza - graciously donated by our friends at Atkins Ranch. You’ll be offered Lamb Loin Chops, Lamburgers, and delectable Roast Lamb.

In true Kiwi style we'll all be chipping in and each bringing a New Zealand dessert to share. You’ll also be asked to help with some specific tasks by the person heading up each night’s meal – but more about that later.

Entertainment from a local band is being very kindly donated by Gower Smith on Saturday evening, and we are open to fun suggestions for other activities.               Hint: Bring your Karaoke voice!

During the days, there are loads of outdoor options for you – hiking, kayaking, fishing, walking to the private beach or relaxing at the campsite. You can bring your own kayak and fishing gear, or guests might rent them for the day from a local outdoor store.

There will be a per Camper cost of $85.00 per person to cover the practicalities such as Porta Potties and Wash Station rentals, and of course the yummy food options mentioned above. And we also provide bacon, eggs, croissants, smoked salmon and so on for ‘on-your-own breakfasts and lunches’.

Tickets for this 21-and-over event will first be made available to SFKiwis members, so be sure to sign up/renew, as a full paid member, as they will likely sell out fast as we return to the great outdoors. Given the limited paddock size and the need to ensure the steer and alpacas on the property have plenty of roaming territory, the event will be capped at 45 guests.

Please visit sfkiwis.com to register for this wonderful weekend among Kiwis!

Guests are expected to bring their own drinking water/additional drinks/food, their favorite camping set up, and to help pitch in with side-dishes/desserts to go with the Kiwi lamb and pies in the evenings.

In the spirit of leave-no-trace camping, guests will be expected to help take all of the trash out from the beautiful property. We need a racoon proofing every night and various other fun camping things.

Guests will be asked to sign a liability waiver at the site, given the risks associated with camping on a working farm, and there being exposed cliffs. As part of the ticket purchase process, guests will be indicating that they realize the risks involved in camping on a wild west coast beach at the water’s edge near the tall and beautiful cliffs.
