President
Lesley Tilley
kiwibirdkiwibird (at) yahoo (dot) com

Lesley was born an identical twin in Kawakawa in Northland. Her family slowly gravitated down to the North Shore in Auckland, and Lesley attended Auckland, Canterbury and Massey Universities. She gained a B.Ed, a Teaching Qualification and a Speech Therapy qualification. She moved to Adelaide, studied for a further degree in Speech Pathology and consequently worked there as Head of the Speech Pathology Department in a major teaching hospital.
Marriage brought her to the United States in the 1980’s and she continues to use her Speech Pathology skills as a Consultant and Supervisor in a local Bay Area School District. She is married to an American who has traveled to NZ and the Pacific for business many times over the years, and of course he is now a member of the Whanau!
She is proud to have seven children, the youngest of whom is a senior in High School. She travels around
the country and overseas to keep up with all of them. Lesley and her husband visit the NZ family every
couple of years, and her children enjoy very fond memories of Aotearoa. In addition to the NZAASF
she enjoys attending KEA events, and organized the Christchurch Relief Effort on Treasure Island
this year that raised over $21,000 for Christchurch. She also arranged the Mayoral Reception for SF
Mayor Lee, the visiting Christchurch City Council delegation and the entire Kiwi community this year at
Zoomsystems. She is actively involved with the San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club which hosts NZ
Wine and Art, Rugby World Cup screenings and many other Kiwi related events.
She is very proud and honored to serve as the President of NZAASF.

Andrew Boak
andrewnzaasf (at) gmail (dot) com
Andrew has lived in San Francisco for over 20 years, so he considers himself a "psuedo native", i.e. he doesn't get lost as often when he drives around the city. Originally from Takapuna, Auckland, he left in 1986 and moved to London to seek fame and fortune with his band. He got involved with the music industry, working for Rough Trade Distribution who, consequently, after 5 years in London, transferred him to SF to run the operations for the US division. Andrew still plays music (in 2 bands at present!!), he also has a massive music collection that he uses when DJing occasionally around the Bay Area and on his frequent visits back home to Auckland. He is currently back at school studying Computer Networking.
Andrew is our website editor and community manager.
